Ogilvy Health adds Sofia Beccarelli to Asian planning operation

Ogilvy Health has added to the roster at its Singapore office, hiring Sofia Beccarelli as associate planning director for the Asia-Pacific region to support key clients “with their marketing transformation.”

The appointment makes Beccarelli responsible for driving the growth of Ogilvy Health’s client portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region and partnering with in-market teams to “expand the world of healthcare communications both strategically and creatively.” Pierre Robinet, president of Ogilvy Health in the Asia-Pacific region, put the appointment in context in a statement to disclose the new hire.

“In today's healthcare landscape, deep expertise across therapeutics areas and health marketing is critical for driving successful healthcare brand transformations,” Robinet said. “Sofia’s leadership and experience further strengthen our regional team.”

Beccarelli began her career at Publicis LifeBrands in London, where she rose to the title of junior planner. After rising further through the ranks at Langland, where she helped win a Bronze Cannes Lion for work on a Johnson & Johnson campaign, Beccarelli moved to Singapore in 2022 to become senior planner at the independent creative healthcare agency Ward6. The Ogilvy role keeps Beccarelli in Singapore.

Ogilvy said Beccarelli’s appointment follows a period of “significant ... momentum” for its business in the Asia-Pacific region. The healthcare agency attributed the momentum to its “acquisition of modern talent” and a diversification of its services over the past two years. A focus on applied behavioral science, data and technology is part of the shift. Ogilvy took the steps to adapt to changes in the healthcare environment.

The appointment comes after high-profile hires at Ogilvy’s U.S. operation. Renata Maia took up the title of chief creative officer while Christianna Gorin and Nadine Lafond respectively became chief growth and strategy officer and client engagement officer.
