Fresh off a successful Cannes Lions, IPG Health folds several med comms companies into new powerhouse agency

IPG Health is bringing its medical communications agencies under one new umbrella corporation, which will be known as IPG Health Medical Communications.

This new powerhouse fuses the recently combined FCB Health and McCann Health together with eight more medical communications agencies, bringing more than 800 experts around the world under one company.

The eight agencies are: AREA 23 On Hudson, Caudex, CMC Affinity, CMC Connect, Complete HealthVizion, Complete Regulatory, ProHealth and Trio.

The newly formed IPG Health Medical Communications will be led by longtime IPG Health veteran Charlie Buckwell as chief medical communications officer, and he will be supported by a senior team from across the IPG Health medical communications businesses.

Each agency and their brands will remain active but will “work seamlessly for greater reach, access to capabilities and scalability,” IPG said in a statement.

“Our med comms teams are obsessed with closing the gap between science and practice,” said Buckwell. "And this new structure enables us to do that in a way that is both personalized for our clients and backed up by the options and choices our scale provides.

The change toward this combination began last year when FCB Health and McCann Health teamed up to become IPG Health.

For the last time as IPG Health and as separate companies, the agency won a series of accolades at this year’s Cannes Lions festival, with FCB Health taking Healthcare Network of the Year while AREA 23 nabbed Healthcare Agency of the Year.
