Healthcare comms and AI marketing firm Real Chemistry has set up its first Asia Pacific strategic hub in Singapore with the acquisition of Spurwing Communications.
Founded and based in Singapore, Spurwing is a comms agency that works with pharma and healthcare companies across the Asia Pacific region.
Real Chemistry said the deal will see it tap into the agency’s “integrated communications, medical affairs and its nuanced understanding of the region’s diverse and evolving market environments,” according to a statement.
“Real Chemistry’s acquisition of Spurwing Communications is an important step in our global growth strategy,” said Shankar Narayanan, CEO of Real Chemistry, in the release.
“We’re continuing to invest in the capabilities and regions that matter most to our clients as they navigate growing global commercialization challenges. Strengthening our presence in APAC allows us to better support clients across the full lifecycle—from strategy through engagement—in one of the most dynamic healthcare markets in the world.”
The agency said it would also be seeking “additional hires and market expansion” over the coming months as part of the acquisition.
Real Chemistry has been in a acquisitive mood, making multiple deals over the past year. This includes picking up healthcare-focused digital media agency Spring & Bond last fall.
A year ago, the firm also bought out New York-based Greater Than One, a fellow healthcare-focused marketing agency.
