J&J’s Tremfya remains on top in Q2 pharma ad spending league as overall outlay drops

Johnson & Johnson looks set to continue battling AbbVie over ad spend in the second half of 2026 as the U.S. Big Pharma’s immunology drug takes the top spot for a second quarter in a row, according to data from iSpot.tv.

J&J’s immunology med Tremfya saw spend for Q2 hit $115.3 million, beating out AbbVie’s rival Skyrizi at $108.7 million.

This kept Tremfya in its number one spot for the second quarter in a row. Skyrizi, however, moved up one spot quarter over quarter, displacing AbbVie’s sibling immunology therapy Rinvoq, which dropped down to third position.

The amount spent on Tremfya was nevertheless massively down from the $169.1 million J&J spent in Q1, while AbbVie coughed up $16.2 million less on Skyrizi ads over the same period.

That was something of a trend: Nine of the top 10 saw their spending on ads drop from the first to the second quarter.

The only pharma that charted a spending increase for the period was Teva with its Huntington’s disease chorea or tardive dyskinesia drug Austedo, though the boost was a scant $1 million quarter over quarter. This saw the medication reach the top 10 rankings, an achievement Teva could not claim back in Q1.

Check out the top 10 biggest pharma ad spenders for the second quarter below.
