ICR unites Westwicke and Consilium units under single healthcare brand

ICR has united the fruits of its acquisition-driven push into healthcare under a single brand. Around one year after closing the second of two key acquisitions, the communications firm has brought its assets together to create ICR Healthcare.

New York-based ICR began stepping up its pursuit of healthcare dollars at the start of 2019. Back then, the company acquired Westwicke Partners, a healthcare-focused investor relations firm. ICR combined Westwicke and an existing team within its public relations business that specialized in healthcare. The next piece slotted into place in September 2023, when ICR bought Consilium Strategic Communications.

Consilium, a long-standing ICR collaborator, brought healthcare communications and investor relations expertise and a London base to its new parent company. The plan was to combine those capabilities with Westwicke’s assets and expertise to create a comprehensive global service offering.

Initially, the U.S. and European groups kept vestiges of their old identities, operating as ICR Westwicke and ICR Consilium. Now, ICR has swept away those links to the past, creating the single, unified brand ICR Healthcare as part of a broader rethink of how it presents itself to the world.

ICR CEO Tom Ryan said in a statement that the launch of the brand enhances the company’s “ability to serve healthcare companies of all sizes, from emerging biotechs to large multinationals, with a seamless approach to strategic communications and investor relations.” The company highlighted support across the lifecycle and across borders as the key benefits for clients.

The communications firm revealed ICR Healthcare alongside changes to its branding. ICR has adopted a new visual identity that includes “a modernized logo and color scheme.” The new look is intended to  embody ICR’s “differentiated approach, Wall Street and capital markets roots and comprehensive service offering.”
