Growing Eversana is tapping into the global AI services pool with a new acquisition, adding London-based health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) company Estima Scientific to its fold.
The deal, for which financial terms are not disclosed, will see Estima integrate its specialist consulting expertise and proprietary software into Eversana’s established market access, value and evidence solutions to better help pharma companies prove their drug’s clinical and economic value “more efficiently and transparently” to payers, Eversana explained in an Oct. 28 release.
Estima is bringing to the table an assortment of web-based, generative-AI applications that can bring “efficiency and accuracy” to economic modeling, systemic literature reviews, network meta-analysis and more. As Eversana notes, Estima’s solutions have already been validated by large pharma customers and leading health technology regulatory assessment bodies, including the U.K.’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Eversana has been growing its commercialization digs since it merged with Waltz Health last summer, creating a combined healthcare platform with a joint mission of tackling “the industry’s misaligned incentives and fragmented patient experiences,” the companies said.
With now Estima on board as well, the company is further building on its efforts to “accelerate modernization” across the biopharma industry by joining technology-first solutions across its platform, it noted in the October release.
“Today more than ever, the pharmaceutical industry must embrace the power of AI to transform every element of commercialization,” Eversana’s CEO Mark Thierer commented. “As we scale to serve global clients, adding best-in-class companies that embrace a technology-first mindset is critical to our success.”
Estima’s team, which will join Eversana’s global workforce, “checks every box and will seamlessly fit into our value & evidence team, bringing game-changing solutions to drive market access success,” Thierer added.
Estima was founded in 2019 and has since built a “strong base” of global clients that use its AI-powered tech to support research studies for global pharma brands. For Estima, joining Eversana is an “incredible milestone” and validates the “specialized technology and consulting expertise our team has built,” co-founder Tim Reason said.
“The company’s global scale and end-to-end commercial infrastructure will allow us to accelerate how pharmaceutical companies build and communicate evidence-based value to payers, helping patients gain faster access to life-changing therapies,” Reason continued.
Eversana, meanwhile, is all in on “pharmatizing AI,” Thierer told Fierce in an August interview. A year after unveiling its end-to-end AI agency platform in 2025, the company shook on an expanded pact with brain disease specialist Lundbeck this summer, allowing the latter to further “scale bionic capabilities responsibly across our commercial organization” and ultimately deliver greater value, Lundbeck’s U.S. EVP and president Tom Gibbs said at the time.
With its AI capabilities, Eversana creates “a new way for pharma to do business, spanning marketing, sales, all the way through product launch,” Thierer said. “Pharmatizing AI is a competitive set of weapons for pharma to win market share, and in the end, get patients on the appropriate therapy.”
