Bend Research adds spray-dry operation, expands manufacturing

Contract manufacturer Bend Research says it is expanding its manufacturing operations at its campus in Bend, OR. It has just added a spray-drying facility for high-potency drugs. But the company says it recently expanded its solid-dosage-form capabilities and bought a building for expanding its manufacturing and development operations. Bend in the last year has inked a number of deals with drugmakers like Eli Lilly ($LLY), Merck ($MRK) and Bristol-Myers Squibb ($BMY). The company also recently made the list of Fierce's 5 Drug Delivery Companies to Watch. The spray-dry operation is designed for high containment operations and is physically separated from the company's other development and manufacturing operations, the company says. It was designed for development of a variety of compounds and safety classifications, ranging from inhalable biotherapeutics to oral solid-form high-potency small molecules. Release | More
