Zydus recalls warfarin after oversized tablets discovered

The FDA says that Zydus Pharmaceuticals is voluntarily recalling one lot of warfarin 2 mg tablets, after receiving one complaint that four oversized tablets had been discovered. The product is used as a blood thinner for treatments like heart valve replacement, and so getting too high a dose could lead to dangerous bleeding. This is not the only recall in recent months after oversized tablets have been discovered. Endo Health Solutions ($ENDP) last year recalled 101 lots of both hydrocodone bitartrate (generic Vicodin) and acetaminophen because tablets may have exceeded their prescribed weights, making them "superpotent."
