A new patch-like device designed by engineers at the University of Texas at Austin boasts a number of functions, including drug delivery for patients with movement disorders such as epilepsy or Parkinson's disease. The "electronic skin," made with a layer of nanomaterials that can hold sensors, microheaters and drugs, can also store information with a memory device that is integrated into the patch. And the whole system is designed to be ultra-flexible. The researchers published the study in the journal Nature Nanotechnology. More | Abstract
