Sanofi ($SNY) and United Medicare agreed on a buyout deal that would give the French drugmaker's Indian unit Aventis Pharma 40 over-the-counter nutraceutical brands and 750 of Universal Medicare's employees. The acquisition will allow Sanofi to reach "large sections of India's population through...pharmaceuticals, vaccines and now nutraceuticals," Aventis managing director Shailes Ayyangar said. Report
