Aetna Completes $500 Million, 10-Year Bond Offering

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Aetna (NYSE: AET) today announced that it has completed a public offering of $500 million of 4.125 percent Senior Notes due in 2021. The company expects to use a majority of the net proceeds to repay its 5.75 percent Senior Notes when due at maturity on June 15, 2011. In the interim, the company expects to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of its short-term debt.
