MSD today announced its intention to sell its Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) manufacturing operations in Oss and related businesses to Aspen Pharmacare, a leading supplier of branded and generic pharmaceuticals based in South Africa. The intention is that the API operations remain in Oss and that all related staff that support these operations transfer with the business if a final agreement is reached. Specific details are now being negotiated, and will be subject to consultation and alignment with the Oss Works Council and Trade Union.
I would like to assure you that in the meanwhile it will be business as usual. We will continue to honor all our contractual obligations and the existing third party supply business will not be impacted by this proposed sale as both MSD and Aspen are committed to ensuring continuity of supply to our valued customers in this segment.
