Folx Health plans for the LGBTQ+ future by honoring its past

Folx Health, the virtual LGBTQ+ care provider, is focused on going forward but not without looking back, in a new campaign, “Future X Legacy,” to honor the trailblazers in the queer and trans community.

The five-minute film, "Future X Legacy," is a joyful and colorful tribute to the queer community featuring more than 20 queer, trans and gender-nonconforming people of all ages and is composed of both new and archival footage. The film builds on last year’s Pride film, “Taking Up Space,” which, according to Folx Health's creative director, Tragik, was about reintroducing the company to the LGBTQ+ audience.

“This year has been one of the most dangerous years when it comes to rolling back and blocking rights around queer and trans health, so we aimed to create more awareness for our HRT Care Fund (in collaboration with Black Trans Advocacy Coalition) and continue fundraising, to provide more access around our care,” said the film’s director, Tragik.

In addition to the film, the campaign, which can be found on Folx’s main page as well as social media platforms, features community and influencer partnerships with a total reach of 6 million followers.

Tragik says Folx has received messages from the community from all over the globe, and the campaign has reached over 250,000 views of the film across all channels within the first week. Folx continues pride partnerships with other brands including, Shea Couleé, Kiva and Solawave raising funds for the HRT Care Fund.

The campaign continues this month with a partnership with five of the trans contestants, Willow, Kerri, Jasmine, Kornbread and Bosco, who appeared on season 14 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

“As we continue to create more brand awareness and brand positioning as a sexual health, body and gender empowered focused company for the broader LGBTQ+ community, we knew it was important to take it a step further for Pride this year and center around our humanity and the work we do to take care of each other in peril times,” Tragik said.

Folx launched in December 2020 as the first major queer and trans venture-backed company offering virtual primary care, sexual health and prescriptions for hormone replacement therapy and sexual health.

An "enterprise solution” was launched this past June to provide LGBTQ+ employees access to end-to-end virtual care, gender-affirming care and patient advocacy. This package will also be available to parents of LGBTQ+ youth and offers support groups, educational content and referral navigation for in-person care.
