Shanghai ZJ Bio-Tech's diagnostic reagent for the ebolavirus has been cleared by the World Health Organization for its list of recommended drugs and devices. The China company's diagnostic kit is the third approved by the WHO for Ebola.
The company, also known as Liferiver, developed a diagnostic kit for rapid tests in the field. Although no longer a front-page story, the outbreak of the often-fatal ebolavirus in West Africa has yet to be brought under control.
