Fraunhofer in effort to develop robotic plant-based vax facility

The Fraunhofer Center for Molecular Biotechnology and its Center for Manufacturing Innovation have teamed with iBio Inc to develop an automated, scalable factory of sorts that uses plants for weeks-long vaccine production. Robotically tended machines plant seeds, nurture growing plants, introduce a viral vector to stimulate plant production of a target protein, and then harvest the biomass. Announcement
