Limited access to healthcare services, differences in socioeconomic status, discrimination and unequal distribution of resources are some of the many factors that can lead to disparities in health outcomes. The importance of addressing these issues cannot be overstated, and that is why Health Equity is one of the five categories that will shape the Fierce 50.
Those being honored in the Health Equity category are working to reduce healthcare disparities and promote equal access to quality care and treatments for all. They’re at the forefront of addressing social determinants of health, dismantling barriers to care and pushing for systemic changes that support equitable healthcare.
Leading the charge in the Health Equity category is Anastassia Gliadkovskaya, a staff writer for Fierce Healthcare. Her primary focus lies in illuminating health equity challenges and addressing structural failures within healthcare delivery systems. Anastassia’s dedication to covering these important issues drives the category’s purpose of shining a spotlight on those who are fostering equitable healthcare for all.
In this video, I interview Anastassia, who discusses her perspective on the concept of being fierce and explains why the Health Equity category holds significant importance.
