Ranbaxy ships Indian-made Lipitor copies to U.S.

For the first time since 2009, Ranbaxy Laboratories is shipping product to the U.S. from a plant in India. Finally armed with FDA approval, a Punjab facility is turning out copycat versions of Pfizer's ($PFE) Lipitor. The three plants banned by FDA four years ago still aren't exporting to U.S., but ramping up Indian production of generic Lipitor is key to Ranbaxy's ability to profit from the drug. Report | Item
