India surges to lead in generics
More proof that India is the new headwaters of generic drug-making: Watson Pharmaceuticals got the FDA to sign off on its production facility in Goa, India.
The California-based company didn't say which product or products it plans to make there, but did project that, by early 2008, it will be on pace to turn out 1 billion tablets and capsules there annually--all for sale on the U.S. market.
