Another generic settlement: Janssen, Watson agree on birth control pill

Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a unit of Johnson & Johnson, ($JNJ) will manufacture and supply generics maker Watson Pharmaceuticals ($WPI) with an authorized generic version of its oral contraceptive Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo as part the settlement of a patent lawsuit. The litigation has been ongoing since October 2008 after Watson filed an abbreviated new drug application with the FDA to produce its own version. Watson extracted the right to market and distribute the authorized generic by Dec. 31, 2015. No other details were provided. Announcement
