Probe finds Novartis not guilty of 'undue influence' at Canadian university eye clinic

Novartis ($NVS) may have helped bring in guest speakers, distributed drug samples, and doled out grants to ophthalmologists affiliated with Western University in Canada, but the company exerted no undue influence on doctors there. That's the conclusion of an independent investigator brought in to check out allegations made by the ophthalmology department's former chair. And Novartis' offer to buy TVs for a clinic waiting room--rejected by the department--didn't amount to a conflict, the investigator said. Report
