As America's diabetes problem grows, so do prices on Lilly's Humulin

With America struggling to get a growing incidence of diabetes under control, insulinmaker Eli Lilly ($LLY) saw an opportunity--and ran with it. Amid a surge in demand for its Humulin U-500 product, the Indianapolis-based drugmaker raised the price not once, not twice, but more than 5 times over the last 7 years: Since 2007, the wholesale cost for a one-month supply has gone from about $220 to approximately $1,200, MedPage Today reports. Report | More
