The third quarter wasn't pretty when it came to drug and pharmaceutical recalls. While the number of recalls fell nearly 30%, the number of units recalled was the highest in the last 5 quarters. According to the quarterly index from Stericycle ExpertRECALL, there were roughly 27.5 million units recalled, up from 17.4 million in the second quarter, a 58% jump. ExpertRECALL does not identify the companies, but it said that three drugmakers accounted for more than 60% of those units.
