FDA is now reporting recalls still awaiting classification

The FDA says it wants to notify the public more quickly about drug recalls. And so it has started a pilot program in which it will send out notifications of recalls that have yet to be classified. In its first report, companies whose products are listed include Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories, a subsidiary of Sun Pharmaceuticals. It is voluntarily recalling two dose forms of its venlafaxine hydrochloride extended-release tablets because they failed Dissolution Specifications. Apotex is recalling massive amounts of cold and cough medicines manufactured under a wide variety of store brands because they failed impurities and degradation tests. Report
