MedPro Safety Products, Inc. (OTCQB:MPSP), a leading developer of transformational technologies that enable safer medication delivery and blood collection, and Weimer Pharma GmbH, a Körber Medipak company, today announced that they have agreed to a preferred marketing partnership.
MedPro’s innovative Drug Delivery Platform will now be offered to Weimer Pharma’s customer base as the premium drug delivery solution. Utilizing Weimer Pharma’s cartridge filling capability, this partnership will offer the pharmaceutical industry a turnkey solution for its injectable needs. Weimer Pharma is one of a small group of companies worldwide providing cartridge filling services, serving more than 80 pharmaceutical companies.
The Weimer Pharma-filled cartridge can be used with any of the three elements of MedPro’s platform. The passive safety syringe is a fully automatic and fully passive safety sharp. The cartridge can be inserted to inject the medication without concern for needlestick injuries, due to the shield that automatically covers the syringe’s needle after use. The cartridge can also be inserted into the intravenous shuttle to administer the medication through any standard intravenous line. Finally, the cartridge can be enclosed in the cartridge vial, allowing the medication to be accessed for injection in smaller doses from the same cartridge.
The combined features of the platform provide greater safety to the patient, primarily by helping to ensure proper dosing, as well as increasing clinician and community safety by preventing needlestick injuries and the potential spread of bloodborne pathogens.
