Fierce welcomes newest publication: FierceDiagnostics

Associate Publisher Rebecca Friend

Three years ago, we answered the need for more coverage in the medtech space with the launch of FierceMedicalDevices. Now one of our top publications, it is proving to be an incredible success. And now the Fierce Life Sciences family is expanding yet again with the launch of our newest publication, FierceDiagnostics.

As the medtech industry grows we are seeing new trends take off, and the diagnostics space is just too important to ignore. Medtech sales growth will outperform the prescription drug market between 2011 and 2018, says EvaluateMedTech's 2018 World Preview. By 2018, in vitro diagnostics will become the world's largest medtech segment and diagnostic imaging is predicted to be number three with 10.3% of the market share.

With the increased use of companion diagnostics and personalized medicine, the diagnostic industry is becoming more important every day, particularly for the pharma industry. Although the nature of the relationship still remains to be seen, this is certainly an area that shouldn't be overlooked.

At Fierce we pride ourselves on being your go-to source for industry news, whatever industry that may be. We think the next industry to follow is diagnostics. We hope you agree. Sign up for FierceDiagnostics today to find out for yourself. -- Rebecca Friend (email | Twitter)
