., a privately-owned developer of healthcare critical communication and workflow software, today announced 159% second quarter 2012 revenue growth over the same period in 2011. EXTENSION added 26 new hospitals to its customer list in Q2, including Sentara Healthcare, Catholic Health System, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Adventist Health and others.

Bill Sterling, EXENSION’s Vice President of Sales stated, “EXTENSION has achieved 5 consecutive quarters of record growth in bookings, revenue, and customer acquisition. CEO Todd Plesko’s directive to triple the sales force delivered the growth we expected and positions us extremely well for the future. Our sales now include a broad mix of enterprise-wide customer deployments. EXTENSION, INC. has proven to the most demanding healthcare institutions in the United States that we uniquely solve complex, often life-critical, communications challenges.”

The EXTENSION technology continues to outpace the competition by delivering context and allowing a clinician to interact with information to reduce costs, improve outcomes, and improve both patient and clinician satisfaction. Sterling added, “These challenges have stymied our competitors and frustrated their hospital customers for years. EXTENSION’s visionary approach to combining context-rich, critically relevant information where it’s needed, when it’s needed is well defended and unlikely to be emulated. As designed, the release of EXTENSION version 3.0 significantly widens the competitive gap and places intense pressure on companies whose products are built on the last century's technology.”

EXTENSION’s headcount has grown nearly 40% over the last 18 months to a current team of 54 highly talented persons. Many of the new hires serve on the implementation team and report to EXTENSION’s COO, Josh Mahler. According to Mr. Mahler, “Our multi-faceted strategy is to grow our internal professional services team with the best experienced resources in the industry and, at the same time, enable our capable partners to leverage their own teams to handle implementations. This plan will ensure that we are properly resourced to support our sales growth and maintain a legacy of quality installs, both of which are critical to our success.”
