Pfizer wins competition agency challenge to Lipitor sales in Australia

SINGAPORE--An Australia Federal Court justice dismissed a case brought by the nation's consumer watchdog agency, saying it failed to prove Pfizer Australia violated the law by muscling out the competition for its Lipitor (atorvastatin) anti-cholesterol drug. The Justice ruled that Pfizer ($PFE) did take advantage of its market power, but said the power was no longer "substantial" at that time, January, 2012. The case was brought by the Competition and Consumer Commission. Release
