Contract manufacturer Vetter to open new high-tech warehouse

Vetter, the German contract manufacturer that specializes in aseptic filling, has invested €35 million ($45 million) in a new temperature controlled warehouse in Ravensburg, Germany, where the company is headquartered. About 400 people will work at the new facility, which the company says in January received manufacturing approval and cGMP certification from the RP Tuebingen, Germany. Like other companies, such as GlaxoSmithKline ($GSK), the Vetter facility has incorporated a number of green energy processes, including solar power, a biogas plant for heating and geothermal technology for controlling temperatures in the high-bay warehouse, the company says.
