India's Mankind Pharma expects to have its 15th production plant operational by the end of the year, this one dedicated to making active pharmaceutical ingredients for the Indian market.
The drugmaker, which also is heavy in the over-the-counter drug and devices market, said it was investing $16 million in the plant, which founder and chairman R.C. Juneja said would help make affordable drugs more widely available in India.
Mankind is one of the leading API makers in the country, helping to drive up its revenues, which have increased at an average of 30% over the past 10 years.
