Decade-old drug dump found in El Salvador

Authorities in El Salvador say the water is safe, despite the discovery of 300 tons of drugs buried near an aquifer. The expired medications were found last Thursday at a Health Ministry site.

The site is about three miles from the capital city, San Salvador. Health Minister Isabel Rodriguez says the drugs may have been buried for a decade, according to a local press report.

Officials say they will dispose of the medications according to environmental regulations.
