Thin-film insulin delivery works on primates

Here's an update on Midatech and Monosol's joint venture to commercialize thin-film insulin delivery technology for diabetics. The companies have announced positive results from a preclinical study of PharmFilm. Rhesus monkeys used in the study were administered insulin PharmFilm transbuccally, or inside the cheek, with data confirming delivery of an active therapeutic dose of insulin.
