Here's an update on Midatech and Monosol's joint venture to commercialize thin-film insulin delivery technology for diabetics. The companies have announced positive results from a preclinical study of PharmFilm. Rhesus monkeys used in the study were administered insulin PharmFilm transbuccally, or inside the cheek, with data confirming delivery of an active therapeutic dose of insulin. The goal now is for human trials this year, according to a release. PharmFilm release
