Researchers from MIT and Brigham and Women’s Hospital have developed a nanotech-based treatment to deliver obesity drugs to fat tissue with minimal side effects. Drug delivery guru Robert Langer of MIT helped lead the research.
Crystal Lake, Illinois-based Aptar Pharma launched technology designed to monitor dosing and adherence in its inhalers. It also teamed up with Adapt Pharma to provide a nasal spray device to reverse opioid overdose, also using metered dosing technology.

Maryland-based platform specialist Intrexon is collaborating with two startups associated with its Harvest Intrexon Enterprise Fund. Intrexon focuses on platforms for drug delivery, and the two companies will make use of its proprietary technologies to advance their own therapies.
