Take a gander at Glaxo's up-and-coming Philly building

GlaxoSmithKline ($GSK) got a lot of local kudos when it inked a deal to relocate its Philadelphia offices to a brand-spanking-new building at the Navy Yard. City officials have been trying to develop that property for years, as the Philadelphia Business Journal reports. But since then, it's the company's design for that office space that's made headlines.

As we reported a couple of months ago, Glaxo's Navy Yard facility won't be the typical corporate warren of offices and cubicles, each with its own nameplate. The facility's 1,300 employees won't even have their own offices. They'll be nomads, equipped with laptops and lockers, working where their work takes them, often in open spaces.

The 205,000-square-foot building is slated for move-in late this year or early next. But now you can get a peek at the work in progress. Twenty-two peeks, in fact, via the Business Journal's slide show. Besides the open-office set-up, the building is designed for "green" certification under LEED.
