In a major restructuring of its global R&D operations, Roche has just announced that it is closing its sprawling center in Nutley, NJ, axing 1,000 staffers and redistributing research activities in Switzerland and Germany. Jean-Jacques Garaud, head of Roche Pharma Research and Early Development and member of the corporate executive committee, is leaving the company at the end of this month. Mike Burgess will become acting head of Roche Pharma Research and Early Development. Report
