PhRMA to lobby for Medicaid expansion
A leading consumer group--Families USA--and PhRMA say they're planning to spend millions to promote three changes to the U.S. healthcare system, including expanding government insurance for the poor. Besides growing Medicaid, the groups want subsidies to help moderate-income folks buy insurance and want a cap on out-of-pocket expenses for low-to moderate-income people with insurance. Report

This looks like the same self-interested medicalization of childhood driven by the pharma industry and specialists that has been plaguing the maternity care field for decades. The only possible outcome is decreasing health status and increasing mortality rates for children.
