Pfizer, Gates Foundation team up on low-cost injectable contraceptive

Pfizer ($PFE) inked a deal with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to roll out a long-acting contraceptive in 69 of the world's poorest countries. The drug is a version of its injectable Depo-Provera, packaged in capsule syringes for easy transport and injection. The product will be sold for about $1 per dose, subsidized by the foundation and the U.S. government. Report (sub. req.)
