Mylan execs' pay leaps by 41%

Tools

Are you sick of executive-pay news yet? We admit that the dollar signs are starting to circle around our heads like the tweeting birds in vintage cartoons. Nevertheless, even we get interested when we hear about a 41 percent pay raise--average pay raise, mind you--for one company's top execs.

Who should be so lucky? The execs at Mylan, who saw their collective pay jump by 41 percent. Together, the top four brought down $22 million in 2008, up from $15.2 million in 2007, BNet Pharma reports. CFO Edward J. Borkowski got the biggest raise, at 113 percent; his pay more than doubled to $3.2 million from $1.5 million. COO Heather Bresch and global tech chief Rajiv Malik each got 70 percent increases, to $2.9 million from $1.7 million.

CEO Robert J. Coury's 20 percent increase, to $12.5 million, looks somewhat paltry in percentage terms, compared with his colleagues. But he also got to use the company aircraft for vacations and other personal travel, which is quite a nice perk.
