Meet the new publisher of FiercePharma

Hello! My name is Rebecca Friend, and I'm the new associate publisher of FierceMarkets' Life Sciences group. My role is to help manage operations across our life sciences news portfolio, with a particular focus on strengthening the must-read status FiercePharma enjoys among our 85,000-plus daily pharma exec circulation.

While I'm new to this role, I've been at FierceMarkets for about four years now.  I started in Marketing Solutions, and for the last year and a half, had the unique privilege to lead that team. In January, I decided to take on my next challenge and moved over to the publishing side, joining a first-class veteran group you've been familiar with for years, alongside Tracy Staton, John Carroll, Ryan McBride and Arsalan Arif.

My previous role at Fierce was in operations and marketing, overseeing all audience-facing marketing campaigns and ensuring content was pertinent to our readers. As the publisher, I'm looking to build on that experience and translate that into an even better FiercePharma. For example, in the coming weeks, you'll see us get into some longer-form content, giving you reporting and insight that colors the daily news in new ways. And I'm pleased to announce an exciting new addition to the Fierce Life Sciences editorial news team: Eric Palmer. Eric is the former business editor of the Kansas City Star, and he's been writing FiercePharmaManufacturing since February. Starting today, he'll write FiercePharma every Friday.

There is one takeaway I'd like to leave you with: FiercePharma is hand-crafted every single day by an incredibly dedicated team, and we take pride in the product that you, our valued reader, depend on every day for your daily pharmaceutical industry update. We actively seek reader input on the service we provide, so I encourage you to keep my contact details handy (or add me on LinkedIn), and please get in touch.

Thanks for reading FiercePharma. I'm looking forward to getting to know you. -- Rebecca Friend (Email | LinkedIn | Twitter)
