Grassley: Whistleblowers, call me
Scientists, Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) wants you. Yesterday on the Senate floor, Grassley rehashed some old pharma company-intimidating-scientist cases--including Merck on Vioxx and GlaxoSmithKline on Avandia. This is old news to anyone in pharma and most everyone else who reads the news daily. But it doesn't matter, because it was just bait.
Grassley wants any would-be whistleblowers to call his office. He also solicited contact from scientists whose employers bully them into suppressing data. Anonymous tips are OK, too, he said. Just call. Even better, fax secret documents to 202-228-2131. Any bets on how many calls he'll get?
