Biotest Pharma to expand plant, hire workers

Biotest Pharmaceuticals announced it will be expanding its plasma plant and hiring an additional 50 workers to increase production of its hepatitis treatment, Nabi HB. The Florida company has already begun construction on the $16 million expansion. According to the Palm Beach Post, Biotest is eligible to receive up to $200,000 in tex incentives from the county and state. Biotest Pharma was formerly the biologics unit at Nabi Pharmaceuticals, but was purchased by Germany's Biotest for $185 million in 2007. Report
