Sanofi-Aventis' Gerard Le Fur - CEO Pay
Gerard Le Fur - Sanofi-Aventis
Total Compensation: $3.3M
Details: After years with Sanofi, Le Fur was ousted as CEO last year following clashes with Board Chairman Jean-Francois Dehecq. On top of the $3.3 million he received for the 11 months he headed the company in 2008, Le Fur received a $3.51 million parachute. His contract called for a severance equivalent to 24 months of his final compensation, but the Board decided that since Le Fur had been at the helm less than two years, he only deserved half of that. Chris Viehbacher took over as CEO December 1, 2008, but Le Fur agreed to stay on as a consultant for $64,765 per month.
For his one month as chief, Viehbacher received $129,530 in base salary and an additional $7,793 for moving expenses, health coverage for him and his family and tax prep services.
