Details: So much for those rumors that Brennan turned down a double-digit pay increase. The CEO's compensation bounced back from 2007's 19 percent drop, with his total 2008 salary of £2.51 million ($4.7 million) coming in at a 17 percent increase over 2007. Brennan's base salary dropped from 2007's $2 million to 1.8 million in 2008, but his bonus jumped from $2,016,000 to $2,425,000. He also received $406,000 in allowances, which included a car, relocation funds and cash for a vested performance share plan award.
