Almac packaging plant gets FDA nod

CMO Almac says its new packaging operation in Pennsylvania has garnered the FDA's approval and will soon be spitting out blister packs, bottles, wallet and vial packaging and labels. The Northern Ireland-based company invested about $10 million in the 100,000-square-foot packaging plant in Audubon, PA. The facility has warehousing in ambient, refrigerated and controlled environments. The company also has package design teams in the U.S. It says it has a contract to make more than 4 million blister packs a year but with the FDA approval is looking for additional business.
