Vaccines made in China--for China. Sanofi Pasteur says it's spending about $104 million on a Chinese manufacturing plant in hopes of launching flu shots locally by 2012. The plant will be in Shenzhen, South China, where the company already operates a filling and packing facility. Construction on the plant will start next year. When it's up and running, it will have 100 employees and a capacity of 25 million doses, but Sanofi hopes to double that within 10 to 15 years.
