The state of Texas is suing Johnson & Johnson's Janssen Pharmaceuticals, alleging that the drug company used Texas mental health officials as "pitchmen" and carried out other unseemly tactics [1] to get its antipsychotic medication, Risperdal [2], on Texas's Medicaid preferred provider drug list. In addition, the state is accusing New Jersey-based Janssen of supplying phony advocacy groups and making other attempts to influence positioning of the medication, essentially defrauding the state over the last 10 years.
