The head of Cipla's India operations has resigned from his post just more than a year after joining from GlaxoSmithKline ($GSK) in January last year, the company said in an email to FiercePharmaAsia.
"Sameer Goel, left Cipla for personal reasons," said Jaisingh Balakrishnan of Cipla Corporate Communications by email.
"Whilst he was with the company he played an important role in building the leadership team in the business and Cipla is grateful for his contribution to the India business."
Goel reported to managing director and global CEO Subhanu Saxena. Before joining Cipla, Goel led a $400 million business based out of Johannesburg, with responsibility for 44 markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
